Can this be painted on any type of ceiling?

We can paint on almost any type of ceiling although with some types of ceilings we cannot do pictures (for example, rough/ridged ceilings.) If you are unsure email us via our contact us page.

Will I have to paint my ceiling black?

No. As the paint gives out light once charged, when viewed at night it gives the illusion that your ceiling is black.

When does it start glowing?

At night as soon as the lights are turned off, the curtains are closed and provided the room has had an opportunity to "charge up" (which means the paint has been exposed to direct light.)

How dark does a room have to be?

The darker the room the better. If necessary, a black light can be used to get a very bright shine. These are used mainly in bars and clubs or for kid's sleepover parties.

Can you see the effect during the day time?

In some ceilings you may see a part of the effect depending on the reaction with some ceiling paint. We do call the effect virtually invisible. Please note with some of the pictures, due to the size and amount of paint necessary, you may see them (or a shine on the ceiling where they are.) How long does the paint take to dry and is there any odour?

The paint is touch dry within a few hours and totally dry within twelve hours. There is no odour.

Is the paint used in creating a Nightsky3d Ceiling safe?

The paint used is a water based, non-toxic paint. For more information on the technical specifications of the paint Email us and we'll send you the Material Data Sheet.

How long does the paint glow for?

The paint will glow for up to 10 hours after the lights are out. Our specially designed and manufactured paint works by absorbing direct light, then when you turn the lights off our paint glows. Your Nightsky3d Ceiling is guaranteed to continue glowing for 5 years.

Will I have to remove furniture and other items from the room prior to my Nightsky3d Ceiling being created?

Professional drop sheets are used to cover any furniture and floor coverings in the room. It is however, recommended that you remove any valuables and/or breakables just to be on the safe side.

I work during the day, are you able to create my Nightsky3d Ceiling in the evening or over a week-end?

Your Nightsky3d Ceiling can usually be installed day or night, seven days a week. You just tell us what day and time will be the most convenient for you and we will in most cases be able to schedule a time that will best suit you.

How can I be sure the end result will be of an excellent standard?
How will I be able to see the result after a daytime installation?

Prior to creating your Nightsky3d Ceiling Artist, the room will be prepared to simulate night time conditions using black-out curtains. In this way you will be able to clearly see the end result.
